While in Pittsburgh for the weekend, I went to this used record/CD shop called The Exchange in Squirrel Hill. While browsing through the aisles, I suddenly thought -- I need to get something by Dolly Parton. This was a moderately odd thought, as I'm not a particularly big fan and historically haven't even had a song of hers in my iTunes. I then crouched in the country section (which was literally near the floor) and found this gem, which includes both the albums Jolene and My Tennessee Mountain Home. I've been listening to it nonstop ever since and am basically obsessed with her wistful, lovestruck yet completely sassy and strong tunes. As a side note: isn't she just gorgeous in the album photograph?
This got me to wondering -- have you ever had an inexplicable, sudden love of an artist you've otherwise left by the wayside?
